About Us
Vienna Elementary has the designation as the longest continuous operating school within Fairfax County Public Schools and also happens to be one of the oldest buildings still operating. This Sesquicentennial Celebration will celebrate the rich history within Vienna as well as the advancements that have come since. We welcome all past, current, and future Vikings along with their families to help us mark this big occasion.
Schedule of Events
We will begin promptly at 5 p.m. on the hill in front of the original entrance across from Town Hall with our special speakers (Dr. Reid, School Board Members, the Mayor, our SCA President and Vice President. and Mr. Carmichael).
After the speakers, everyone is free to check out the activities listed below:
- Games, provided by the Vienna Community Center—on the fields
- Picture Opportunity—get your picture taken with the Vienna ES Mascot between 5:30 and 6:00 p.m. on the hill
- Face Painting and Temporary Tattoos—Under The Tent by the Playground
- Guess the Number of Candy in the Jar—Under the Tent by the Playground (winner will be announced at 6:15 p.m.)
- Vienna Elementary History—Check out the Vienna ES History in the front of the school at Door 1. Also, please sign our Guest Book.
- Tour—Take a tour of Vienna ES at 5:45, 6:00 and 6:15 p.m.
- Reserve Your Holiday Ornament—Blacktop
- Teen Center Information Table—Blacktop
There will be hot dogs provided by the Vienna Inn (until we run out) and Cake provided by Giant.
You will also see some familiar faces as we have some former students volunteering at the activities.
