Emily Dempsey
Emily Dempsey is a second grade teacher at VES. This is her sixth year teaching second grade at Vienna! After graduating college with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Emily became an instructional assistant in the VES Intellectual Disabilities classroom. She realized her passion for teaching and pursued a degree in elementary curriculum and instruction to become a classroom teacher. Emily serves as the primary grade mathematics lead teacher and was awarded Vienna Elementary School’s teacher of the year for the 2019-2020 school year. She is passionate about fostering a respectful classroom community, helping each child feel valued, and inspiring students to love learning and reach their full potential. In her free time, Emily enjoys reading, doing outdoor activities with her husband (hiking, tennis, golf), and rooting for all D.C. sports teams.
